I am quite a big fan of Yves Rocher as some of my long term readers of this blog will know, I love their perfumes that are a great price as well as some of their skin care and toiletries which I have written about here and here. Most recently I have been testing out a few more of their cosmetics, a range of different eye make up items!
I have blue eyes and pale skin but love making a feature of my eyes with neutral brown shades around my eyes so I was very excited to try out their Quad eyeshadow sumptuous color in shade number 06 Red-hot brown. One thing that I love about Yves Rocher is the amount of online sales they have. When I visited Belgium Yves Rocher was incredibly popular with a huge amount of highstreet stores but in the UK we have to buy Yves Rocher online which is OK as you can keep an eye out for online sales and voucher codes.
The Quad Palette can be used wet of dry, applied wet gives a bolder, more metallic look that can be applied as eye liner. Used with the Fixing Eyelid Primer this eyeshadow can last the entire day without any smudging or fall off. The Quad is pricey at £25 full price but is currently half price at £12.50 which is far nicer! That being said the quality with the packaging is there and the eyeshadows are a lovely shade combination, strongly pigmented and blendable.
The product that surprised me the most, mainly as I thought it was a lipstick without properly looking at it, is the Intense 100% Kajal Liner in black. This was originally £15.90 but is now on offer for £9.95. This isn’t a make up item I have found a need for yet, it can be drawn on the waterline to give a smokey eye look and lived in eyeliner as it is very smudgy/blendable but cannot be used for any precise lines and can be quite messy. As you use it the block will become thicker and less usable, I’m not sure if you can realy sharpen it as it is very soft. I did pick up a very similar item from Primark for £1.50 so if you are unsure whether this type of liner will be good for you then try out this much cheaper alternative first. Unless you are a fan of the Claudia Winkleman eye make up though this probably isn’t the item for you.
The Yves Rocher Mascara Volume Vertige is again nearly half price at £11.50 and has a plastic, peanut shaped wand. I found this difficult to use on my my lower lashes as it is a large brush but it gave me separated lashes with volume and length on top. Although this was a good mascara and I really liked the look my favourite Yves Rocher mascara has to be Sexy Pulp.
Are you a fan of Yves Rocher makeup?
