Star Nail Designs

I love stars and star nail designs so came up with my own shooting star nail designs that are really bright and fun for spring. I used nail tape and star sequins to create these star nail designs. It is quite an easy effect but gives really effective results. If you are interested in seeing any more of my nail art tutorials you can find them here.

Star nails are really pretty and these will give you a little sparkle on your nails without being over the top. You can obviously use other colours and polishes but I love the orange pink Sally Hansen Salon Nail Lacquer – Orange You Cute? polish as it is so bright. It is a really girly, funky colour and the perfect party polish.

Striping Tape is really cheap and easy to get hold of but it does take a while to arrive. You can pick up 10 roles for a few pounds and they are fantastic for nail art. If you find that the base colour polish is pulled off when you peel off the nail tape then first press the tape onto your skin several times to reduce the stickiness strength. It should then easily come away from the nail without pulling or removing any of the base colour.

Using one or two layers of top coat at the end really helps to keep the sequins in place so that you don’t loose them. It also makes the nails look smooth and glossy.
