The essence Velvet Stick matt lip colour is available in 5 different shades, 01 nude hero, 02 peony star, 03 mega melon, 04 cherry crash, 05 plump perfect.
Whilst in Germany I was able to pick up all shades except 03 mega melon (a red neon shade). The essence Velvet Sticks are highly pigmented with colour that does not move. Unlike most matt lipsticks these feel like a balm on the lips and hide any dry skin.
The essence velvet sticks are easy to apply and are quite moisturising but are more of a silky, velvet looking matt because of this. As you are applying from the bullet you might think precision would be difficult to achieve but the actual formula of the lipsticks is very hard so you can easily create the perfect lip edge, even with the darker shades. Whilst you have to sharpen these, there is no way to twist up which is a down point, they will last a long time in between sharpening as a little product goes a long way.
The shades last a few hours but do fade evenly when eating or drinking. In the photos I am wearing essence velvet stick 01 nude hero as it is such a wearable coral nude, perfect for teaming with a dramatic eye.
Shade 02 peony star is my favourite from the collection, a cool toned, natural mauve for creating Kylie Jenner-esque lips. Shade 04 cherry crash is a rather vibrant blue toned cherry. Last is 05 plum perfect, which to me isn’t much of a plum shade, more of a red with brown undertones. It is a very subtle way to wear red with no gaudiness – a your lips but better red.

I like the idea of cherry crash, I’m always looking for a cheaper alternative to the Nars Velvet mattes.nnDupes Are A Girls Best Friend
