Chalkboard Valentines Day Nail Art – Valentines Day Nail Art Take 2
I’ve been loving seeing everybodys matte nail designs going about but couldn’t think of a design to make with it. I think over black the effect looks like a chalkboard so here are some valentines designs!
Matte top coats are great, rather than buying a range of matte polishes you can use this to make any colour you want matte. It gives a really nice frosted effect rather than glossy. In the UK there used to be really cheap matte top coats at Boots 17 and Rimmel but they can’t be found anywhere :( I looked in Boots and there is a No 7 Matte Top Coat polish available in some of the larger branches. The matte top coat I used is the Bourjois So Perfect Matte Top Coat that can be found at Superdrug and won’t break the bank compared to other matte top coats.
For this effect I applied one coat of Nails Inc Black Taxi Patent Black Nail Polish 10 ml. I did the detail and characters using the Rio Professional Pastel Nail Art Kit. To finish I applied 2 coats of the Bourjois So Perfect Matte Top Coat.

I love this idea! I have never tried a matte top coat polish! To be honest I don’t do much with my nails. I have to be the worst at applying nail polish!

I really like the matte top coats, you can create pretty cool effects contrasting the gloss and matte :)

Never tried this myself, but these look good. I would need to get some matte nail polish first though, so I’d have to pass on this account… :( But you guys did a good job!

Where are you based? No 7, NYX, OPI and Bourjois are brands that sell them. Let me know how you go with Ebay, I’ve been looking at the cheap £2 ones wondering if they are just as good x
