I love finding a bargain, especially if I can share my advice and help people get a little more for their money. I am always on the look out for new bargain beauty buys and cheaper cosmetics and was recently sent some Aldi Cosmetics to have a play with. I haven’t tried any Aldi Cosmetics before but was really keen to try out the quality of the items.
The different pieces of make up that I received from Aldi were from Lacura; Lacura 3D Lash Effect (£2.39), Lacura Glamour Volume Mascara(£2.39), Lacura Face Care CC Cream for light skin tones and medium skin tones (£3.99)and Lacura Beauty Eye Liner with sharpener (£1.99).
Starting out on a negative review was the CC creams. This is my first use of CC cream and for those of you that don’t know it stands for “color correcting” and address issues like redness or sallowness. Similar to BB cream CC cream is subtly different but still contains properties such as moisture, primer, serum, sunscreen. It has a heavier consistency so is better for covering uneven skin tones or blemishes and offers an enhanced focus on skin care. These CC creams I didn’t find to be particularly good although the light skin tone shade suited me really well and I was hoping the consistency would be good for my summer base as it has 15 SPF. I actually found it to be a little clay like and waxy on my skin and caused me break outs. It was very similar to the Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Foundation SPF 20 that didn’t sit well on my skin and was nowhere near as good as the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. This was disappointing but I wasn’t too surprised as I don’t often find brilliant budget foundations.
Onto the eye products and the mascaras have both really impressed me. I really like the presentation, having them come with the wands visible and the mascara in a packaged pen. They are both volumising, don’t clump my lashes and keep them separated and looking long. Unlike a few cheap mascaras I have tried they don’t irritate my eyes and also last the whole day without going flaky.
Last is the eyeliner in black which is a plastic pencil that comes with a sharpener and an angled rubber sponge at the end. It has quite a lot of staying power once set but it gives you quite a lot of time to smudge it and give a smudgy smoky eye. The pigment is fairly strong but buildable to give yourself a strong black.

Wonderful review! I know someone who swears by their face creams too.
The £D effect Mascara is just so wonderful but the offer has ended and I can’t buy anymore please Aldi make it a core product – amazing at only £2.39 each I love it.
sorry that should have been a review for the 3D Effect mascara from Aldi!
