Lush Sunscreen Lotion
The Lush Sesame Suntan Lotion offers SPF 10 and needs to be applied generously and topped up every 2 hours for protection from the sun. It is designed for effective skin hydration so it also works as a really good after sun.
This Lush sunscreen lotion is rich in nutrients combining organic sesame oil, walnut leaf infusion, aloe vera extract and for softening the skin there is also Fair Trade organic cocoa butter. These ingredients will help you tan whilst protecting and nourishing the skin. This product is vegan and like all their products it is cruelty free, handmade, fresh, natural and they support ethically buying. A recent product I fell in love with was the Lush shaving soap and I also wrote about my Lush experience here.
I usually love Lush products instantly but with this item I am still unsure. The consistency, texture and effect are all fantastic but I am still undecided as to if I like the smell. There is a strong food smell given out from the Lush sunscreen lotion, it is very nutty from the walnut leaf and roasted sesame seeds. Whilst nice it is very strong aroma and for summer I would much rather something lighter, more refreshing or fruity, maybe with coconut oil instead.
The lotion is slightly thick and gives a bronzed, moisturised look once rubbed in, acting slightly like a tinted moisturiser. I’ve really enjoyed the look it gives my legs and also applying it to my face on these summer days when I haven’t put on any face make up. For me it has been quite a good base for make up, protecting my skin and bringing through a healthy, dewy glow.
Have you tried the Lush sunscreen lotion? What were your thoughts on the nutty smell of the product, did you love it or was it not for you? Let me know in the comments below.
I honestly am a bit hesitant about the product and how it might work, but I love the scent of sesame! It sounds really interesting and I’m not sure how well the scent as a body product might work, but I’m definitely going to give this a sniff next time I venture into Lush.

This looks pretty good! SPF 10 is a bit low but the prodcut itself doesn’t look too thick which is my main problem when it comes to suncreen!! and can you really go wrong with lush? I don’t think so,

I saw this when I went in to one of their shops a few weeks back but the highest they do is SPF30. I’m quite pale so I worry that 30 wouldn’t be enough as I usually use 50.
The SPF isn’t high enough for me but this sounds like it’d be great as an aftersun! I love that it’s a bit like a tinted moisturiser too :) xx

I haven’t tried it but the scent you’re describing probably would turn me off. I like Lush products but some can be too weirdly scented, lol.
Here in the USA LUSH can’t even sell sunblock/sunscreen/lotion because America REQUIRES animal testing on all sunscreen products! :( Bummer!
