THINGS TO DO IN LIVERPOOL
Coming at you with another local city escape, because is there anything better than a mini adventure on a quiet weekend? If you are wondering where to explore next, visit Liverpool – it is one of England’s friendliest cities. If you have doubts about what Liverpool might have to offer, I’d recommend going, even if it is to enjoy being around such a lovely bunch of people! This north-west English city has such a collection of things to do for every type of tourist, traveller, and city breaker.
Liverpool, one of the UK’s cities of culture, is vibrant, fun and creative. With the regeneration of the docks area and the wealth of museums and galleries, you’ll never be short of things to do. Liverpool is one of the most culturally rich cities I’ve visited in the UK, and there are also many events happening in Liverpool throughout 2019.
WHERE TO EXPLORE
Liverpool Cathedral
There are two cathedrals in Liverpool, Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, Britain’s biggest Cathedral and the Metropolitan Cathedral. Both are worth a visit, but photographs do not do justice of the size and scale of the Liverpool Cathedral.
Albert Dock
This beautifully restored historic dock area is where you will find lots of museums and fantastic places to eat. Plan ahead with Liverpool ONE for their brilliant restaurant directory. At the Albert Dock is the Tate Liverpool, a museum I love to visit. The Tate is situated in converted dock buildings and houses contemporary international art exhibitions. The Maritime Museum is also based in the Albert Dock, and for any Beatles fan, the Beatles Story is a whole museum dedicated to The Beatles! A short walk away is the Museum of Liverpool, a modern building with displays on the city’s heritage. While wandering the waterfront keep a look out for one of the most iconic buildings in Liverpool, the Royal Liver Building. There are often events at the Waterfront, such as the upcoming Bordeaux Wine Festival.
World Museum
The World Museum is one of the most famous Liverpool attractions, and there are always so many upcoming events held there. In the past, we visited the magnificent Terracotta Warriors exhibition and always keep an eye out for forthcoming displays when future trip planning.
Spectacular photos to complement the beautiful post. Visit India to witness the art scene here.
