The ‘beast from the east’ struck and we had another flurry of snow in March. For me it was a chance to go out and have fun in the snow.

One of my favourite places in Leeds is Golden Acre Park in Bramhope. If you have never been I highly recommend it for a nice outdoor day out and a stop at their cafe. The extreme weather meant that their lovely lake was frozen over with the ducks a little confused by the situation. Perfect if you want to spend some quality time together but not at a high cost. This spot has always been a family favourite, there are so many spaces to explore.

The wonderful gardens offer dog-friendly, open green space. Feed the ducks, enjoy their stunning circular lake walk as well as an abundance of nature in all seasons. One of my favourite spots is a squirrel space where you can place a few nuts and after a few minutes see them all come out of hiding.

Call into the popular, newly refurbished tearoom for refreshments or shop selling gifts and plants.
