Pantene In Shower Foam Conditioner Review

One of my favourite aspects of beauty blogging is having the chance to try out the exciting and new ideas in the cosmetics world. The new Pantene In Shower Foam Conditioner was not a concept I had come across before, but does shower foam conditioner work?

The Pantene In Shower Foam Conditioner contains conditioning ingredients combined with bubble forming components. The conditioner is applied the same as a regular liquid conditioner, straight after shampoo. The bubbles in the foam expand once exposed to air. The bubbles suspend the conditioning ingredients allowing them to be absorbed quickly and leave your hair light.

There is a lot of thought about this new and exciting take on a classic product. I was testing the Repair & Protect product, but for other hair types, there are Extra Volume, Colour Protect and Smooth & Sleek.

While I have read great reviews from people with very fine hair for me, a girl with heavy, thick, long and coarse hair this was not the product for me. It was quick to use; it just melts into your hair. However, it did not feel moisturising like my usual conditioners; it felt more like a mousse in my hair.

On my first use, I apparently didn’t rinse all of the product out well enough despite a long rinse with a power shower. I usually do not put conditioner in my roots, but the Pantene In Shower Foam Conditioner instructions explained to do this. Having the mousse in my roots made them heavy, greasy and lank.

I learnt from this and on the second time used it only on the length and ends of my hair. My hair dried better this time and felt lighter but still not conditioned and was quite fly away.

This foam conditioner obviously is not the product for me; it seems to work amazingly for others, so I will have to give this away and see if it does work better for girls with fine hair. Maybe the Pantene In Shower Foam Conditioner Smooth & Sleek would work better for me, I will be trying it out with the Foam Conditioner range currently being half price.

Looks like a cool concept, but I think I would be in the same boat as you! I have long, heavy, coarse hair so this doesn’t seem applicable to me. Plus I don’t like putting conditioner on my roots as it gets greasy too quickly! Such a shame, might suit my Mum though as she has short fine hair. Maybe I’ll get her some!

I like that it’s a different texture to try but then it sounds like your hair was still thirsty for conditioner after using it

I love the product, but have a really hard time getting it open the first time. How is the top removed?
